All things are possible through the grace and power of the Holy Spirit!

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is God. He is one of the three Persons of the Trinity, along with God the Father and God the Son, whose work is to manifest the active presence of God in the world and especially in the Church. The Bible says that God is "spirit," so the Holy Spirit is fully God, exists eternally, and has all the attributes of the Divine Being.

The Holy Spirit is much more than a force. He is the divine, invisible, personal Being with specific characteristics, wills, and feelings.

When a person believes in Jesus Christ and receives His Word, the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in their heart and works to ensure that God's work in this life is complete, with salvation, transformation, and sanctification.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) who comforts us, teaches us, convicts and corrects us, guides us and empowers us to do and be more than we could on our own. The Holy Spirit was given to us when Jesus was resurrected and returned to Heaven to sit on the throne at the *right-hand of God the Father.

*The right hand symbolized power and authority, indicating Jesus has a pivotal and leading role in interceding on behalf of those who love and accept Him as their savior; He reigns alongside God, our faithful Father.

Role of the Holy Spirit in a Christian's Life

Of all the gifts given to mankind by God, there is none greater than the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit has many functions, roles, and activities. First, He does a work in the hearts of all people everywhere. Jesus told the disciples that He would send the Spirit into the world to “will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment” (John 16:8, NASB). Everyone has a “God consciousness,” whether or not they admit it. The Spirit applies God’s truths to people's minds to convince them by fair and sufficient arguments that they are sinners. Responding to that conviction brings us to salvation.
